Whether in desert-like conditions or in cold, wet regions with corrosive road salt and salty air, STEEL-IT Systems provide excellent protection and guarantee a strong and highly durable stainless steel surface that is resistant to the wear and tear caused by stone chips, sand, wooden sticks and other objects.

The function of STEEL-IT

The STEEL-IT Systems consist of customised, microscopic 316L stainless steel flakes that form a barrier impermeable to moisture, oxygen and other corrosive materials. The ferrous metals are effectively protected against corrosion and rust formation. In addition, the abrasion-resistant stainless steel coating can withstand the most demanding conditions, with each STEEL-IT System having its own specific advantages. For example, the Polyurethane Topcoat is UV-resistant and directly weldable. The Silicone High Temperature Coating can withstand constant temperatures of 537°C. This is used wherever conventional coatings reach their thermal limits, such as on exhaust systems.
Cracks and fractures are recognised immediately and can be repaired quickly and easily, as welding can be carried out directly through the STEEL-IT Polyurethane Topcoat without having to remove the coating first. The welded parts are then painted over with the aerosol to ensure a hard-wearing and corrosion-resistant surface. Typical applications in the automotive industry and motorsport include car chassis, reviving cylinders, brake calipers, hubcaps, suspension components and much more.
